Even all of the world's weapons production capacity will not be enough to cover the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Strategic Industries Minister Kamyshyn told Politico.
"If you put together all the world's weapons and ammunition production capacities, it will not be enough for this war," he said.
The minister calls on the West to increase production, particularly closer to the front line. He believes that the war in Israel only confirms this need.
"The free world must produce enough to defend itself. That's why we have to produce more and better weapons to stay safe," Kamyshyn told arms manufacturers in Berlin, trying to convince them to invest in Ukraine.
The publication writes that Ukraine may need up to 1.5 million shells annually to support its military effort. The West promises to provide a million next year. Kamyshyn hopes that Ukraine will be able to at least partially cover the rest of the need with domestic production.
"This war can last for decades. [The Russians] can always come back," he said.
