Leader of the Republicans in the Senate: Russia, China and Iran are the new "axis of evil"

The leader of the Republicans in the US Senate Mitch McConnell has called China, Russia and Iran a new "axis of evil" that the United States must deal with. He said this in an interview with Fox News.

According to one of the most senior US senators, the countries led by Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin and Ali Khamenei are forming a "new world order" and are watching the civilized world's reaction to the conflicts that break out.

"You have to respond to the real conditions that exist that pose a threat to the United States. The Iranians are also a threat to us. So, this is an emergency situation. The evil is China, Russia, Iran - because it is a direct threat to the United States," McConnell emphasized in the interview.

The Senate Minority Leader called Iran the main sponsor of terrorism and accused China of supporting the aggressors, recalling how the Chinese leader declared "endless friendship with Russia" in his speech at the "One Belt, One Road" forum.

McConnell called Israel's war against Hamas terrorists the culmination of a global problem that poses a direct threat to the United States.

"In many ways, the world is more threatened today than at any time in my lifetime," McConnell said.

He emphasized that, unlike the fall of the Berlin Wall, the world is facing competition between great powers for the first time, which coincides with the threat of terrorism in the Middle East and Europe. He traced the logically connected chain of interaction of the new "axis of evil", emphasizing that it is with drones made in Iran that aggressors attack both Ukraine and Israel, while the leader of China watches from the sidelines, "thus avoiding responsibility".

McConnell also said: "If the Russians are not defeated, they will enter a NATO country next."

He also emphasized that American aid to Ukraine is actually aid to ourselves, including the opportunity to restore the US military-industrial base, as it is thanks to funding for aid to Ukraine that jobs will open up in 38 states.

"So, the notion that our assistance to Ukraine is useless to us is not true," McConnell concluded.
