Norway may provide financial assistance to Ukrainian citizens who wish to return home. This is reported on the website of the Norwegian Immigration Board.
"If you have a valid residence permit in Norway but now want to return home, you can apply for a grant from the Norwegian authorities. You must have been granted collective protection or a residence permit on the basis of compelling humanitarian reasons, or you must have received a family immigration permit together with a person belonging to one of these groups," they explain.
Thus, Ukrainians can receive 17,500 Norwegian kroner (about 58 thousand hryvnias) in cash to return home and settle in Ukraine. However, Norway cannot help with transportation.
It is noted that the money will have to be returned if the person decides to return to Norway.
"If you return to Norway, you must pay back all or part of the financial support you received when you left Norway. The amount you have to pay back depends on how long you stayed in your home country," the statement said.
