Ukraine may receive modern F-16 fighter jets from its partners in the first half of 2024, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on "Breakfast with 1+1" broadcast.
"Our pilots are currently undergoing training. As soon as the pilots complete their training, and at the same time the infrastructure for this is being prepared in Ukraine, the planes will be in Ukraine. That is, the only obstacles for F-16s to appear in the Ukrainian air are the completion of pilot training and infrastructure preparation. I think the optimistic scenario is somewhere in the first half of next year," Kuleba said.
The minister emphasized that the partners have made all fundamental decisions regarding the F-16.
"And you remember the President's tour when he was in the Netherlands, in Denmark, when we showed the aircraft that will fly in our airspace. The latest achievement of the 'aviation coalition' is Belgium's decision to provide the aircraft," the Foreign Minister said.
