The Pentagon answered the question that the United States does not set conditions for Israel to use American weapons, while Ukraine has been subject to certain conditions.
At the briefing, Deputy Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh was asked whether this meant that Washington trusted the Israelis more than the Ukrainians, and she replied that she "would not look at it that way."
"I would say that both Ukraine and Israel are currently participating in two very different wars," the Pentagon official said.
As an example, she cited the use of cluster munitions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noting that this is done "very responsibly."
Singh emphasized that the conditions for the use of cluster munitions are necessary primarily for the safety of Ukrainians.
"So that when they start demining these territories - when they regain control over them - further civilian casualties will be avoided," the spokeswoman said.
At the same time, according to her, Israel is one of the oldest US allies in the region and Washington works very closely with it when it comes to providing security assistance.
"We must remember that this attack is considered their September 11. They have every right and must respond to the terrorists who killed innocent people. Again, in our conversations, we have made it very clear that they-that the Israelis, when they engage in combat, must abide by the laws of war, allow civilians... safe passage. But again, we have to remember that they were brutally attacked on October 7," Singh added.
