The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has allowed military property lost during the fighting to be written off under a simplified procedure. It will be written off within two weeks instead of six months.
"Now there is no need to conduct a separate investigation for each unit and get approval from senior management," the Defense Ministry said on Telegram.
Previously, it took a month to six months to write off a drone. Now this procedure will be reduced to two to three weeks. Company, battalion, or brigade commanders will be able to write off equipment worth up to UAH 1.5 million.
According to the order of the Ministry of Defense, commanders can:
- write off kamikaze drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles converted to perform target destruction missions without an investigation. Previously, 16-18 documents had to be collected to write them off. Now, only two documents are required: an act of launching during combat operations and an act of high-quality technical condition;
- write off munitions used up during combat operations or in practical firing on the basis of a write-off act approved by the commander of a separate company, battalion, or brigade;
- to separate, disassemble samples of military equipment damaged during combat missions or unused parts for restoration, modernization or production of other equipment;
- to write off UAVs lost in combat worth up to UAH 1.5 million without obtaining approvals from the Air Force Command, Logistics Forces and the Ministry of Defense.
Thanks to the shortening of write-off terms, commanders will be able to receive information about the need for military equipment more quickly.
