The USA imposed sanctions for violating the price limit on Russian oil, - the US Treasury Department

On October 12, the United States imposed new sanctions for violating the price limit on the sale of Russian oil. This was reported by the US Treasury Department.

"Today, the US Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is imposing sanctions on two organizations and identifying as blocked property two vessels that used the services of coalition service providers and transported Russian crude oil at a price in excess of the agreed price limit," the statement said.

The report emphasizes that this demonstrates the determination of the US Treasury Department and its international partners to responsibly reduce the Russian government's oil revenues and limit the Russian military machine.

Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo said that today's actions demonstrate our continued commitment to reducing Russia's resources for its war against Ukraine and enforcing the price cap.
