The US Presidential Administration sees no signs of Russian involvement in the Hamas attack on Israel. This was stated by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator for the National Security Council, in an interview with Voice of America.
"(As with Iran), we also see no indication that Russia was in any way directly involved in these attacks," he said.
The White House spokesman reiterated the US position that Iran was somehow involved in the Hamas attack on Israel, pointing out that Tehran has been supporting the terrorist group for many years.
According to him, no one denies the fact that Hamas would not be able to function if it were not for the help they receive from Iran.
"What we are saying, and what our Israeli partners are also saying, is that we do not see any direct evidence that they were directly involved in these attacks. But we will continue to study, monitor the intelligence picture and the evidence, and see where it leads us," Kirby said.
