Italian Defense Minister Guido Crozetto has suggested that Russia could launch a "retaliatory offensive" in the winter of 2024, ANSA reports.
"I think that spring could be a period when, having exhausted the weapons of both sides to try to achieve a turning point on both sides, it will be possible to start an attempt at dialogue," the minister said.
Crozetto emphasized that Italy is actively strengthening Ukraine's air defense to protect civilian and energy infrastructure from attacks, but admitted that resources are being depleted.
"The problem is that you don't have unlimited resources. Italy has done almost everything it could, there is not much room for further development," the minister said.
