On Thursday night, 7 fires broke out in Kherson due to attacks on residential areas, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
"In Kherson, the enemy started striking residential areas in the middle of the night using various weapons. As a result of the attacks, there were 7 fires in the city. Residential and apartment buildings, cars and a shopping street in one of the city's markets were on fire," the statement reads.
Klymenko emphasized that despite the ongoing artillery shelling, rescuers continued to extinguish the fires until the morning.
"According to the police, 3 people were killed and 5 others were injured," Klymenko said.
Also, according to the Interior Minister, Russians fired incendiary shells at the village of Kyzomys in Kherson region, setting residential and commercial buildings on fire.
