Poland is confident in its ability to cope with a possible Ukrainian embargo on vegetables and fruits, while "it is unknown whether Ukraine will cope with the Polish ban on the import of agricultural products." This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Robert Telus, according to e-sadownictwo.
The minister expressed surprise at the decision of Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka and called his actions incredible.
"This is a big surprise for me. What Minister Taras Kachka is doing (Kachka is the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - Ed.) is incredible. Until now, I hoped that he was doing this on his own behalf, but I see that he is now convincing his government to make such decisions," Telus said.
The politician noted that Poland supplies Ukraine with vegetables and fruits in small quantities and can cope with a possible embargo, but doubts Ukraine's ability to cope with a Polish ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
"But it is not known whether Ukraine will cope," the Minister emphasized.
As we reported earlier, Poland will stop supporting Ukrainian refugees and Ukraine will ban imports of Polish vegetables.
