Erdogan: Russia's war with Ukraine will last a long time

Vladimir Putin wants the war in Ukraine to end as soon as possible, but according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the conflict will continue for a long time, PBS reports.

Answering a question about the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine, Erdogan said that "only the leaders of both sides can say." At the same time, he predicts that the war will continue for a long time.

"It is quite obvious that this war will last for a long time. And we would hope that the war will end as soon as possible. And Putin is actually also in favor of ending this war as soon as possible," the Turkish leader said.

Erdogan also expressed the opinion that Russia can be trusted in the same way as the West.

"I have no reason not to trust them (Russia - ed.). Russia is as reliable as the West. We have been waiting on the EU's doorstep for the last half century. And now I trust Russia as much as I trust the West," the president said.

Erdogan emphasized the importance of solidarity and cooperation in terms of natural gas supplies from Russia to Turkey. He emphasized that his policy is aimed at establishing contacts with different countries of the world based on mutually beneficial relations. In this context, he emphasized that he would have good relations with Russia and the United States.
