Russia's withdrawal from 'grain deal' threatens access to food, - the head of the UN on human rights

Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal has made the right to food unattainable for many people, particularly on the African continent. This was reported by the UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk in the Reuters publication.

"The Russian Federation's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Agreement in July and attacks on grain facilities in Odesa and elsewhere have once again sent prices skyrocketing in many developing countries, making the right to food unattainable for many people," he said.

According to Türk, high levels of malnutrition are observed in countries such as Somalia and other African regions, especially in drought conditions.
