German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock unexpectedly arrived in Kyiv on Monday, September 11, without announcing her visit in advance, possibly to ensure security. This was reported by DW.

"Ukraine also defends freedom and all of us with great courage and determination. Just as Ukraine stands behind us, it can also rely on us," Baerbock said upon her arrival in Kyiv.

Baerbock also said that the European Union is preparing a decision to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession. She noted positive changes, such as judicial reforms and media legislation in Ukraine, and emphasized the need to implement the anti-oligarchic law and fight against corruption.

The German Foreign Minister also emphasized that Germany will continue to support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression, both economically, militarily and humanitarianly.

"We support the organizations, the Ukrainian authorities and non-governmental organizations that are working to bring the abducted children home. And to ensure that these crimes are solved. The indictment at the International Criminal Court is also an important contribution to this case," Baerbock said.
