Romania tightens border security due to Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports

Due to Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports, Romania is strengthening security measures in its border areas with Ukraine. This is reported by Digi24.

Romania's National Emergency Committee has instructed the Ministry of Defense to take measures to protect the population in areas on the Romanian side of the Danube River in the event of shelling of Ukrainian ports in Reni and Izmail.

It is planned to send threat notifications through the Ro-Alert system in areas where there is a risk of "objects related to military operations used in the conflict" falling.

Local authorities will also be required to instruct the population on how to act in the event of a threat.

In addition, it is planned to build shelters in the settlements of Plaura and Chatalkia, as well as in some other areas.
