Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov has expressed the opinion that holding elections during military operations could lead to Ukraine's defeat. He said this during his participation in the program "Breakfast with 1+1".
Oleksiy Danilov noted that there are calls for elections to be held in the midst of active hostilities, but such campaigning has no place in the trenches.
"I can say that as soon as campaigners enter the trenches, we will lose. Campaigning cannot be in the trenches, and our people are in the trenches. And the task of the state is quite simple - to ensure that everyone can vote," said the NSDC Secretary.
Oleksiy Danilov also mentioned the situation with immigrants abroad: "People who start giving advice need to understand that they need to live in our realities, not in realities where everything is fine and there are no explosions."
