Ukraine is ready to file a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Brussels and the European Union member states if restrictions on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products are not lifted after September 15. This was stated by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine and the country's trade representative, in an interview with Politico.
Kachka emphasized: "With full respect and gratitude to Poland, if any bans are imposed after September 15, Ukraine will file a lawsuit against Poland and the EU at the World Trade Organization."
He noted that such restrictions violate the current Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which has been in force since 2014.
Ukraine's trade representative also emphasized that there is no evidence of price deviations or a significant increase in grain supplies that could justify the extension of import restrictions.
