President of Lithuania: Corruption in Ukraine affects the supply of weapons from the West

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has emphasized that corruption in Ukraine has a significant impact on Western countries when considering arms supplies to Kyiv, LRT reports.

Nauseda emphasized: "This is an important reason. This is a very important reason. Because those states that support Ukraine are democratic states, so they have to take into account the mood of their society and the opinion of their voters," he said.

The Lithuanian President noted that corruption scandals in the country receiving support could damage the reputation of the country providing assistance.

"Imagine that voters in a particular state see that there are very visible corruption scandals in the country where the aid is directed. This is a huge blow to the reputation of this state," the politician said.

These comments were made after the replacement of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
