Budanov: attack on Pskov was from Russian territory

According to information from the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, the attack on the Il-76 aircraft based in Pskov was carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation, The War Zone reports.

The head of the GUR noted that these aircraft, which are the basis of the enemy's military aviation, were specifically chosen for the attack because they are used to transport military cargo and paratroopers.

"We are operating from the territory of Russia," Budanov said.

He did not specify whether the attack was carried out by employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate or by Russian partisans controlled by Ukrainian intelligence. In addition, Budanov refused to disclose information about the types and number of UAVs used.

Budanov emphasized that two Il-76s were destroyed and two others were seriously damaged in the attack.

It is worth noting that yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the use of Ukrainian weapons capable of hitting a target at a distance of 700 kilometers. Interestingly, the distance from Ukraine to Pskov is approximately the same distance.

Earlier, GUR representative Yusov spoke about the destruction of four aircraft.
