The destruction of four Il-76 military transport aircraft at the airfield in Pskov, Russia, tonight has been confirmed. Several similar aircraft were also damaged, Defense Intelligence of Ukraine spokesman Andriy Yusov told RBC-Ukraine.
"The airfield in Pskov, enemy objects were hit. There were explosions that destroyed four IL-76s and damaged several others," the DIU representative said.
The specialist noted that due to the night time, the losses of personnel are likely to be small.
"But since it was night time, they (losses of personnel - ed.), if any, were insignificant. It was a defeat with the use of special equipment and the work of the relevant groups on the territory and from the territory of the aggressor state," Yusov said.
According to the publication, this operation was organized by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine. However, the intelligence service itself has not yet made any official comments on its role in this event.
As we reported earlier, on the night of August 30, a large-scale drone attack took place on Russian territories, including the occupied Crimea. The drones were reportedly spotted in several Russian regions, including Pskov, Bryansk, Kaluga, Ryazan, Orel, and Moscow.
