The British government has officially announced the appointment of Grant Shepps as the new Secretary of Defense.

He replaced Ben Wallace, who decided to resign a month ago.
Shepps previously served as Secretary of Transportation under Boris Johnson, for six days as Secretary of the Interior under Liz Truss, and as Secretary of Business and Energy under Rishi Sunak.
The Times reported that Grant Shapps visited Kyiv last week in connection with the celebration of Ukraine's Independence Day.

Britain's new Defense Secretary Grant Shepps has promised to continue supporting Ukraine.
"As I take up my new role at the Ministry of Defense, I look forward to working with the brave men and women of our Armed Forces to keep our country safe. And the UK's continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Putin's barbaric invasion," he wrote on Twitter.
