The Telegraph: Return of nuclear weapons to Europe is part of a new Cold War

According to The Telegraph, the United States is sending about fifty fifth-generation F-35 fighters capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons to Europe. F-35s are designed to conduct tactical nuclear bombings and are capable of gathering intelligence.

An unnamed source said: "The F-35s will be based in the UK. They have turned around and will move at the end of this year, if not sometime in 2024."

The Telegraph notes that the Ministry of Defense has refused to comment on the deployment of US nuclear warheads in the UK.

The publication emphasizes that until 2008, 110 US nuclear bombs were stored in the UK. However, as the level of military threat decreased, it was decided to remove them. Currently, tensions in the region are growing again.

"The potential return of US nuclear weapons to Europe is proof that the West has entered a new Cold War and it is a signal to Russia that things are serious," said former NATO Commander Hamish de Bretton-Gordon.
