Pentagon: Funding for Ukraine is guaranteed until the end of the fiscal year

The US Department of Defense is guaranteed to fund military support for Ukraine until the end of the fiscal year on September 30. This was stated by Pentagon representative Sabrina Singh at a briefing for journalists.

"We are confident that we will have sufficient funds to meet Ukraine's needs until the end of the fiscal year. But, as you know, there was a request for additional funding, and we hope that Congress will approve it," the official said.

Singh reminded that the US Department of Defense has identified $6.2 billion in excess funds for military assistance to Ukraine from US stockpiles, and these funds will remain available at the end of the fiscal year.

"These funds will not be used up at the end of the fiscal year," the Pentagon representative emphasized.

As a reminder, in early August, the administration of US President Joe Biden submitted a request to Congress to allocate an additional $22 billion to support Ukraine by the end of this year.
