The US discloses the contents of a new military aid package for Ukraine

The US Department of Defense has provided a full list of weapons that will be included in a new $300 million military aid package to Ukraine from US Army stockpiles.

This is the first arms package from the United States in 2024. The money for it came from "unforeseen savings" in contracts already signed by the Pentagon to replace the weapons transferred to Ukraine.

In particular, the United States will provide:

  • missiles for MANPADS Stinger;
  • additional ammunition for HIMARS;
  • ammunition for 155 mm artillery, including cluster munitions (DPICM);
  • ammunition for 105 mm artillery;
  • AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers;
  • additional ammunition for small arms;
  • ammunition for clearing obstacles;
  • spare parts, maintenance equipment and other support equipment.

"Aid to Ukraine remains a smart investment in our national security. It deters potential aggression in other parts of the world, while strengthening our own defense industrial base and creating high-skilled jobs for Americans," the Pentagon added.

It is worth noting that the arms package did not mention ATACMS ballistic missiles with a range of up to 160 kilometers, which, according to Politico, were to be provided by the United States.
