During the Republican primaries, one of the Republican presidential candidates, Vivek Ramaswamy, expressed his opposition to providing aid to Ukraine. According to him, this is not in America's interests, and he emphasized this in an interview with Voice of America correspondent Ostap Yarysh.

Ramaswamy emphasized that he opposes supporting Ukraine because such a course of action is "not in the national interest of the United States." He claims that his "plan to end the war will actually be better for Ukraine."

The politician stated: "At least it will come out of the war with its sovereignty intact. And this is not the situation they are in now. Mark my words. This war will end right now if the United States does not intervene and says we will no longer finance it."

He also compared the situation with the possible arrival of a "post-Zelensky warlord with American weapons worth hundreds of billions of dollars" to past events, in particular, the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

"Exactly the same as it happened after the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. And you can see how far it has gone," the politician noted.
