The minimum term for the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine is 6-7 months, Defense Minister Reznikov said. The head of the defense department emphasized that not only pilots, but also engineers, technicians and other specialists involved in operations should undergo the necessary training. This will affect several hundred people, according to media reports.
"Therefore, I think that 6-7 months is the minimum period (for the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine - ed.), which should be consciously assessed. But if it is a little longer, we should not be disappointed, because our pilots have demonstrated their ability to be ready in 6 months," he commented.
At the same time, it is still unclear how long it will take to train technicians and engineers, as maintenance and repair of systems are complex processes.
