Ukraine calls on the government of Israel to resolve the difficulties faced by Ukrainian citizens when crossing the border. This was stated by Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk.
The ambassador appealed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to review the entry policy for Ukrainians and intervene in this issue. If the problem is not resolved, the Ukrainian government may consider suspending the visa-free regime with Israel.
Korniychuk emphasized: "The government of Ukraine will not tolerate the humiliation of its citizens when entering Israel. We will suspend our bilateral agreements on visa-free travel, as provided for in Article 7 of the intergovernmental agreement. This option is on the table of our government."
The ambassador also did not rule out the possibility of imposing restrictions on the entry of Israelis to Uman, where Hasidic pilgrims celebrate the Jewish New Year. He emphasized that in order for Israelis to be able to visit Ukraine, including Uman, as tourists, Prime Minister Netanyahu's active intervention in this issue is needed.
