The Czech Republic will receive new helicopters from the United States and plans to transfer old Mi-24B helicopters to Ukraine, according to Jana Chernohova, the Czech Defense Minister, ČT24 reports.

The minister noted that the Mi-24B/35 helicopters have successfully fulfilled their goals, although they have served longer than planned. From the United States, the Czech Republic will receive UH-1Y Venom and AH-1Z Viper helicopters.

"Even if we symbolically say goodbye to them today, their story is definitely not over. We will definitely find a use for these helicopters. That's all I'll say on the matter, because I don't comment on deliveries to Ukraine as a matter of principle," Chernokhova said.

The minister did not specify the number of new helicopters to be delivered. She emphasized that the Czech Republic also needs spare parts for Mi helicopters, but they are on the list of restricted goods due to sanctions, which makes it difficult to purchase them.
