Considering the fact that some employers avoid declaring their labor relations, Ukraine's budget loses more than 100 billion hryvnias annually. Currently, the level of illegal employment is 9% of the total working population. This information was provided by Andriy Kharchenko, First Deputy Head of the Central Interregional Department of the State Labor Service, during a broadcast on Ukrainian Radio.
The State Labor Service has launched an information campaign "Come out into the light!" to combat undeclared work.
Starting from June 16 this year, the service has been authorized the right to conduct unscheduled inspections. Therefore, employers who intentionally avoid registering their employees may face administrative and criminal liability, as well as fines. The fine for one unregistered employee is 10 minimum wages, which amounts to UAH 67,000. Kharchenko noted that the greatest risks of undeclared labor are observed in the catering, trade, construction and agriculture sectors.
