Fozzy Cash&Carry hypermarket chain has announced that it will cease operations in Odesa due to the destruction of its store as a result of the night shelling of the city. The company published a statement on its Facebook page.
"As a result of the night attack by Russian forces on August 13-14, our Fozzy hypermarket in Odesa was completely destroyed and it cannot be restored. It is with deep regret that we announce that Fozzy in Odesa will no longer operate," the statement said.
The store in Odesa employed 270 people, three of whom were injured, but their condition is stable.
The company will offer its employees jobs at other Fozzy Group companies, as well as the opportunity to move to other cities where the group's hypermarkets are present. The company expressed its intention to recover every lost "square meter".
"We have yet to accurately estimate the amount of damage, but it is likely to be hundreds of millions of hryvnias," the company said.
