Journalist Christo Grozev believes that Putin's strategy for Ukraine is to delay any military developments until the elections in the USA.
"He hopes that the West's support will be canceled if Trump wins." I ask if Putin can influence the election. He answers that the risk is associated with the use of artificial intelligence.
"The problem is that AI is in the hands of people like Elon Musk. What they say correlates with Russia's interests, and their actions are currently absent. Both he and Peter Thiel support Ukraine, although they are not convinced that they should," he said.
Grozev also recalled his hypothesis in January that Prigozhin would oust Putin within six months. Grozev suspected a coup attempt on the eve of June 23, as telephone conversations between the military became very active.
"Putin went on TV and called Prigozhin a traitor. Everyone knows what they do with traitors, but Putin didn't do it. He wants to see him dead. So far, he cannot do this. In six months, Prigozhin will either die or there will be a second coup," Grozev says, not ruling out other possible options.
In his opinion, the elite, with the exception of the military-industrial complex, sees no point in the conflict in Ukraine. But they do not speak out. They do not want to be the first or the only ones.
Grozev is worried about the health of General Ivan Popov, who has recently been criticized. But what could serve as a catalyst for the next attempt to move Putin? Apparently, other events could take place. A failure on the front line," Grozev believes.
