Putin "cleansed" the FSB after the failure in Ukraine - Bellingcat

Bellingcat investigative journalist Christo Grozev said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had conducted a "purge" of the FSB after the failure in Ukraine. He said that at least 150 officers of the 5th Service, who dealt with the "Ukrainian issue", fell under it.

Grozev said this on the air of the TV channel Popular Politics.

According to him, the former head of the 5th Service has not picked up the phone for two weeks and there is no communication with him.

The journalist also said that large-scale "cleansing" was carried out among the former subordinates of Colonel General.

Thus, according to Grozev, the "Ukrainian issue" in the 5th service of the FSB was handled by 150 officers and "significant" part of them have already been released or arrested.

"I wonder what happens to the people who were under Beseda's command. He wasn't alone there - there were, as I told you, 150 FSB officers who dealt with the Ukrainian issue." I can tell you that a significant number of them, if not arrested, are definitely no longer working for the FSB. The purge has definitely passed. In a few days, hopefully, Bellingcat will be able to publish something more specific about the fate of these people", - said the journalist.

Let's remind, recently the advisor of the head of the Presidential Office Oleksiy Arestovich in the context of the news about the transfer of the head of the 5th service of the Federal Security Service of Russia Sergey Beseda to the detention center expressed confidence that they are already looking for those responsible for the failure of the war against Ukraine. And they are viewed only as traitors.
