After Prigozhin's death, Russian authorities may direct their attention to Kadyrov - Gudkov

Russian oppositionist and former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov expresses the opinion that after the death of the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Russian authorities may direct their attention to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

According to him, President Vladimir Putin no longer plays the role of mediator between different factions in the Kremlin, as he is unable to cope with this task. Internal conflicts are going beyond Russia, Gudkov emphasizes.

According to his analysis, Ramzan Kadyrov may suffer a similar fate to that of Yevgeny Prigozhin, whose plane crashed in the Tver region. There are suggestions that this plane crash may not have been accidental, but rather the Kremlin's retaliation for organizing the armed uprising that Prigozhin initiated in late June.

Gudkov also points to a possible conflict with Ramzan Kadyrov, who, in his opinion, is one of the biggest opponents of Russian bureaucrats. He notes that Kadyrov has his own well-organized army and considerable influence.

According to Gudkov, internal tensions in Russia are intensifying. He also emphasizes that there is a risk of an escalation of the conflict between the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Ministry of Defense.
