According to CNN, the United States has given the green light for the first shipment of Abrams tanks to Ukraine, which are expected to arrive in early autumn. Doug Bush, the chief weapons buyer for the US Army, shared the announcement, emphasizing that last weekend was the moment of approval for the shipment of the tanks.
Bush noted that the tanks are ready for shipment. However, before they arrive in Ukraine, they will have to go through the process of being delivered to Europe and then to Ukraine, supplying ammunition, spare parts, fuel equipment and repair supplies. He emphasized that the package provided includes not only tanks, but also all related equipment. This process is still under development.
CNN also reminded that the United States began training the Ukrainian military on Abrams tanks in May in Germany. About 31 tanks intended for delivery to Ukraine have been sent for repair and preparation for shipment for several months. Approval for the transfer of the tanks has been officially submitted.
