Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that a tragedy occurred in the Georgian resort of Shovi: a Ukrainian woman died as a result of a landslide. At the moment, rescuers are looking for the child of a woman who was also at the scene of the incident.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is conducting an investigation to determine whether other Ukrainians were at the Shovi resort when the disaster occurred.

Prime Minister of Georgia Iraklii Garibashvili reported that rescuers on helicopters evacuated 210 people from the disaster zone. According to the latest reports, 12 people died, and the search continues for 20 missing persons, with whom contact was lost after the disaster.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed his condolences to the people of Georgia over this event.

The dead Ukrainian turned out to be 30-year-old Alina Polikovska, who worked at the "Ukraine" TV channel. She rested in the mountains with her husband and three children. Other journalists write about her death on Facebook. According to their data, the husband and children have not been found yet.
