President Volodymyr Zelenskyi made a statement on the anniversary of the Russian terrorist attack in the Olenivka colony. Then the Russian occupiers deliberately killed the captured Azov fighters.
This was reported by the head of state in a video message.
According to Zelenskyi, the terrorist attack in Olenivka is one of the most brutal and despicable crimes in Russia, a deliberate and calculated killing of captured "Azovians".
"Let every loss of Russia be retribution for its evil and let every occupier, every Russian killer, all those responsible for this terror against Ukraine and Ukrainians know - while they are still alive - that justice wins. Ukraine will win," the president emphasized.
Terrorist attack in Olenivka
On the night of July 29, 2022, an explosion rang out in the occupied Olenivka colony. As a result, more than 50 people died, and another 130 were injured.
As the Ukrainian investigation established, the Russians detonated a thermobaric weapon in a barrack with captured "Azovs". According to the SSU, these were "Bzmil" thermobaric rocket grenades.
To hide their crime, the Russians invented and actively spread the version about the alleged attack of Ukrainian HIMARS missiles on the colony. However, the other day, almost a year after the tragedy, the UN officially denied the version of the Russians, assuring that the cause of the explosion was definitely not HIMARS.
