The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, visited the advanced positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the Bakhmut direction.
This was reported by the president's Telegram channel.
"The Bakhmut direction, the advanced positions of the Special Operations Forces. Today I am here to congratulate our soldiers on their professional day, to honor their strength," the president writes.
Zelenskyi added that during the meeting he talked with Ukrainian soldiers and listened to the commander's report.
The situation in the Bakhmut direction
According to the commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, the situation in the direction remains tense. Our soldiers continue to advance and liberate territories from the enemy. In particular, in the direction of Bakhmut, the attack aircraft during the operation liberated 1,200 meters, despite the fact that the occupiers are densely covering the positions of our soldiers with artillery.
As noted by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces, Serhiy Cherevaty, the Russians are throwing all their forces at the direction. At the same time, their losses already exceed the "numbers" of the Soviet army during the war in Afghanistan.
