In Ukraine, the date of Christmas and several other holidays has been officially changed. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the corresponding law.

 This was reported by the OP press service with reference to the presidential decree and law No. 9431.

 From now on, the date of Christmas has been officially changed in Ukraine. Instead of January 7, it was postponed to December 25.

 In addition, the dates of other holidays have also changed:

 The Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Day of Defenders were moved from October 14 to October 1;

 Day of Ukrainian writing and language, instead of November 9 - October 27;

 The Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus - Ukraine and the Day of Ukrainian Statehood, instead of July 28 - July 15;

 Adoption Day, instead of September 30 - September 17.

 Also, now Family Day will be celebrated in Ukraine on May 15.

 What preceded it

 The Orthodox Church of Ukraine decided to switch to the New Julian calendar from September 1, 2023. After that, some holidays will be celebrated in a new way in our country.

 The Verkhovna Rada previously passed a law on the postponement of a number of public holidays. It was reported that all innovations will come into effect on September 1.
