At the same time, Zheleznyak said that the issue of appointing a new minister of culture is not on today's agenda. According to him, most likely, the new appointment will not take place this week.

 Release of Tkachenko

On July 21, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received a resignation letter from Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. He himself submitted the application due to the resonance with the allocation of funds by the Ministry of Culture from the state budget.

At the same time, before it became known about the statement, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi instructed the Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to consider the replacement of the Minister of Culture.

This decision was preceded by a scandal over the fact that the Ministry of Culture allocates millions of hryvnias for the creation of a Russian-language product from companies that worked for the Russian market.

So, on June 7, the state-owned enterprise "Multimedia Platform for Foreign Language of Ukraine" held an "art competition" for the creation of films and TV series. Then the winners were companies whose founders worked on the Russian market and in Russian projects.

However, the loudest scandal arose after the companies of TV presenter and showman Yuri Gorbunov announced the allocation of 33 million hryvnias for the creation of the comedy series "SMT Ingulets".

Let's add that the public collected signatures for a petition for Tkachenko's resignation even before this case.
