On the night of July 27, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with missiles and kamikaze drones. The enemy was targeting the port and the airfield.
That night, an air alert was announced in the southern, eastern central and part of the northern regions.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces warned of the threat of missile strikes in the south of Ukraine. There was a threat of drone attacks in the central regions.
Air defense work
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the Russian Federation fired two Kalibr missiles at Ukraine from the Black Sea this night. Launches were carried out from a submarine. Unfortunately, the air defense forces were unable to shoot down the Russian missiles, they hit the port in the Odesa region.
Also, the occupiers released 8 Iranian-made kamikaze drones from the south-eastern direction. The defenders "landed" all the drones. The air defense system worked in Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions.
Odesa region
At night, two Russian cruise missiles hit the port infrastructure of Odesa region. The military and local authorities reported that the production equipment of one of the cargo terminals, as well as the security building and cars, were damaged.
A 43-year-old security guard was killed in an attack by the occupiers. The law enforcement officers have already opened a criminal case on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code).
Khmelnytskyi region
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, clarified that during the night, the occupiers tried to attack the airfield in Starokostyantynov, Khmelnytskyi region.
"Again, the Starokostantyny airfield does not give rest to the occupiers. Well, not the airfield itself, but our military pilots who carry out the strikes. Well, you see what good "cotton" is happening in the occupied territories. That is why today this airfield is under the sights," he said Ignat.
Fortunately, all the enemy drones were shot down, so the Russians did not achieve their goals.
Not the first attack
We will remind you that yesterday evening an air alert was announced in Ukraine, and explosions were heard in a number of regions. They were connected with the work of air defense.
Later it became known that the Russians fired 36 missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. Also, the occupiers raised MiG-31K fighters into the sky and fired four more Kh-47 "Dagger" missiles in the direction of Khmelnytskyi region. The occupiers aimed at the airfield in Starokostyantynov.
Our defenders destroyed 33 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and Daggers. Previously, these missiles were shot down only in the Kyiv region.
It is worth noting that previously Ukrainian air defense could not shoot down Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles. However, thanks to the Patriot anti-aircraft missile complex, this has now become possible.
