The Russians shelled the historic center of Odesa.

 The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that Russia launched an X-22 missile at the altar of the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa. The building of the Greek consulate was also damaged.

 He said this during his address to Ukrainians on July 23.

 Zelenskyі reported that one man was killed and 20 others were injured during the shelling of Odesa. Among the victims were 4 children - 11 years old, 12 years old, two 17-year-olds.

 "That night, a Russian missile - and it was an X-22, an anti-ship missile - hit the altar of the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa... One of the most valuable cathedrals in Ukraine. In 1936, it was looted and destroyed by the Bolsheviks. Already in independent Ukraine, the cathedral was restored. And now terrorists are trying to destroy it again. In total, almost 50 buildings were damaged in Odessa this night alone, 25 of which are architectural monuments "The historical center is a world heritage that UNESCO has taken under its protection," the president said.

 Zelensky noted that the building of the Greek consulate was also damaged.

 "This is the second consular institution in Odesa that has been affected by Russian terror. Only three days ago, the building of the Chinese consulate was damaged due to another such attack," the Ukrainian leader said.

 Rocket shelling of Odessa

 On the night of July 23, the Russian terrorist army launched a massive missile attack on Odesa. The terrorists fired 19 rockets of various types into the city. Some of them were shot down.

 One person was killed and 20 others were injured as a result of the terrorist shelling of the city center. More than two dozen architectural monuments were damaged, including the Transfiguration Cathedral.

 UNESCO has already condemned the rocket terror of Odesa and the destruction of historical monuments.
