American media claim that the Ukrainian military is already using US-provided cluster munitions. At the same time, official data on their use have not yet been received from the Ukrainian authorities.

The publication, with reference to an unnamed Ukrainian official, reported that our defenders began using cluster shells in the southeast of Ukraine.
According to him, the fighters are trying to break the well-fortified Russian positions, which slowed down the summer offensive of Ukrainian troops.
Cluster ammunition for Ukraine
Recently, the United States handed over cluster munitions to Ukraine, American President Joe Biden said that such shells will help the Ukrainian military to continue its counteroffensive.
At the same time, the transfer of cluster munitions is a temporary solution for a transitional period until Western countries can produce more than 155 mm artillery shells of other types.
At the same time, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, dispelled fears about the transfer of cluster munitions and named five main principles in their use. In particular, Ukraine will use shells only to liberate the territories of Ukraine, that is, it will not hit Russia.
Let us add that Russia has been using cluster shells for a long time, killing the Ukrainian population.
Note that cluster munitions release bombs that can cover five times the area of conventional munitions. They consist of dozens of smaller bombs and fly apart when detonated. In view of this, they can pose a danger to civilians for many years after the end of hostilities.
