Defense forces of Ukraine are taking the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region under fire control, and Russian troops are trapped there. This was announced on Monday, July 10, by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (FSU), Oleksandr Syrskyi.

 "Bakhmut. The enemy is trapped, the city is under fire control of the Defense Forces," he wrote in Telegram, adding to confirm this video of the work of 77 separate airmobile brigades, which destroyed the position of the Russians on the roof of the building.

 Syrsky emphasized that the work continues and the Russians are being knocked out of their positions in the Bakhmut direction.

 

 Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar also reported on Monday that Ukrainian troops have been "under fire control of the entrances, exits and movement of the enemy" in Bakhmut for several days. "This became possible due to the fact that in the process of moving forward, our troops took control of the main commanding heights around Bakhmut," she wrote in Telegram.

 

 Meanwhile, over the past day, the Russian Federation concentrated its main efforts on several areas in the east of Ukraine: Lymanskyi, Bakhmutskyi, Avdiivskyi, and Marinskyi. During the day, about 30 combat clashes took place there, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF) reported in the morning briefing.

 During the day, Russian troops attacked a number of populated areas of Ukraine, carrying out 30 airstrikes and 47 attacks from rocket salvo systems. There are dead and wounded civilians, damaged civilian infrastructure.

 At the same time, the Ukrainian military struck one blow at the personnel concentration areas. Units of missile troops and artillery during the past day hit two areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, two artillery means in firing positions and two radio electronic warfare stations, reports the General Staff.

 It is also noted that since the beginning of the offensive in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, the Defense Forces of Ukraine have liberated 169 square kilometers of Ukrainian land from the Russian invaders, which is approximately the same as the area of the city of Odessa.
