Experts of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspected several objects of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but did not get to the roof, where objects similar to explosives were found.
This was stated by the head of the agency, Rafael Grossi, on July 7, Radio Svoboda reports.
"We have progress. From Wednesday to today we were able to gain more access. Not yet to the roof, but we have submitted a request to the occupation authorities to go up there," Grossi said at a press conference.
The head of the IAEA also expressed confidence that the experts will receive such permission. They have already inspected several other facilities.
"We were able to inspect the cooling ponds and other places. As can be seen from my reports, we did not see any signs of explosives or mines in these places," he added.
Earlier, "Energoatom" warned about a new threat from the activities of the Russians at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant - the Russians entrust the management of the largest nuclear facility in Europe to inexperienced specialists who do not have the necessary knowledge and skills at all.
In addition, it became known that the Russians are going to put power unit No. 4 at the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the city of Energodar into a "hot shutdown" mode, thereby increasing the risk of a disaster.
There is also a threat of a terrorist attack. Two new satellite images show unknown white figures on the roof of the fourth reactor of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
