An explosion rang out in the Shevchenkiv district court building of Kyiv today, July 5, in the afternoon.
This was stated by the speaker of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Maryana Reva.
"Indeed, the Kyiv police received a report about the explosion, the services arrived at the scene," she said.
The mass media report that the explosion could have been organized by an attacker who threw a grenade at law enforcement officers under the Verkhovna Rada building in 2015.
It is worth noting that at that time he turned out to be Ihor Humenyuk, who was a soldier of the "Sich" volunteer battalion.
Later, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, said that the police, investigative and operative groups, special forces, explosive devices and other necessary services had already arrived at the scene.
"According to preliminary information, an unidentified device detonated a man who was brought to court. The details are being established. Keep calm and do not approach the scene. Let the relevant services do their work effectively," he added.
It also became known that the information about the hostage in the building of the Shevchenkiv district court, which is distributed on the network, is false.
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, National Guard servicemen brought to the court premises the defendant who detonated an explosive device in the restroom.
The intruder who detonated the explosives is alone in the room and there are no escorts with him.
What is known about Humenyuk
