Since the beginning of the war started by the aggressor country, about 700,000 children from Ukraine have been taken to Russia. The head of the International Committee of the Federation Council Hryhoriy Karasin wrote about this on July 2 in Telegram.

The Russian politician called it "saving children from bombings and shelling."

"In recent years, 700,000 children, escaping from bombings and shelling from conflict areas in Ukraine, have found shelter here. Many of them are with their parents, and children of orphanages are with their teachers," Karasin wrote.

He repeated the propaganda thesis about "Kyiv radicals" who "mock" children, saying that the Russian Federation, "unlike a number of European countries, has always treated children with care and warmth."

It should be noted that according to the "Children of War" state portal, at least 19,489 children were deported from Ukraine. Only 373 were returned.

The children's ombudsman of Ukraine, Darya Gerasimchuk, stated that since part of the territory of Ukraine is under occupation and the authorities do not have access there, it may be several hundred thousand kidnapped children.

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin stated at a meeting with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Duney Miyatovych that Ukrainian children are being taken both to the territory of Russia and to the territory of Belarus. According to the information of the Belarusian opposition, more than two thousand Ukrainian children, including orphans aged six to 15, were taken to the territory of Belarus to the so-called rest camps and sanatoriums. The opposition is aware of four places where Ukrainian children are in Belarus.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the president of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and Lvova-Belova. They are suspected of illegally deporting children from the occupied regions of Ukraine to Russia.

On April 27, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution calling the deportation of Ukrainian children genocide.
