Representatives of the EU, Washington and London are going to Georgia: they will talk about sanctions

EU Special Representative for Sanctions David O'Sullivan, as well as authorized officials of the US State Department and the British Foreign Ministry, are arriving in Georgia.

 This is reported by "Novosti-Gruzia".

O'Sullivan will arrive in Georgia on June 26 to discuss monitoring compliance with international sanctions.

The delegation also includes the head of the US State Department's Sanctions Coordination Office, Ambassador Jim O'Brien, and British Foreign Ministry representative Kumar Iyer.

Meetings are planned with Prime Minister Iraklii Garibashvili and the ministers of foreign affairs, economy, finance, the management of the National Bank of Georgia and the prosecutor's office.

"The purpose of the visit is to open a direct channel of communication and establish a dialogue... The Government of Georgia has expressed great readiness to cooperate in matters of particular importance to the special representative," the EU representation in Georgia noted.

Earlier, O'Sullivan said that the EU, the US and Britain are investigating the sharp increase in exports to Russia's neighboring countries, as this may be a sign that some of them end up in the Russian Federation to circumvent sanctions.

We will remind, the other day the EU approved the 11th package of sanctions in connection with the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which is mainly aimed at combating the circumvention of the introduced sanctions. Among other things, it provides for the possibility of measures against companies and countries that systematically help supply Russia with sanctioned goods.
