Pope Francis did not announce a planned speech at the conference on Thursday due to ill health.
This is reported by Reuters.
It is noted that Francis has breathing problems after the surgery.
"I am still under anesthesia, my breathing is bad," Francis said at a meeting of the Catholic Eastern Church.
The pontiff added that delegates will receive a written version of his speech.
When asked how he felt, the 86-year-old Pope replied: "I'm still alive."
In early June, the Pope underwent surgery to repair a laparocele, a hernia that sometimes forms over a scar after surgery. Laparocele is more common in the elderly, and can also be caused by obesity or weakness of the muscles of the abdominal wall.
Francis was discharged from the hospital on June 16.
