The advance of Ukrainian troops at the front is not going fast. The autumn counteroffensive of the Armed Forces also began in a similar way.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyі stated this in an interview with the BBC.
"In the fall, we had appropriate counteroffensive actions and it seemed that this was a slow process. But at some point, everyone saw how we rapidly began to move forward. The same will happen here," the head of state said.
Zelenskyі noted that in general, the state leadership evaluates the counteroffensive positively. According to him, the Armed Forces are facing difficulties, in particular with mined territories.
"I would like to take bigger steps, they are a little smaller, but you know: the one who fights will win, and the one who knocks on the door will be opened. Therefore, in any case, we are confident in the success of counteroffensive actions," he added president.
Zelenskyi said that he is not sure of the ability of the occupiers to resist the Ukrainian army. However, in his opinion, the Russians are ready to commit large-scale disasters, such as blowing up the Kakhovskaya HPP.
"Someone says that they wanted to prevent our counteroffensive in this way. Well, I'll tell you honestly, don't believe such information. Russia does it every day. It blows up our infrastructure every day, hits missiles, etc. They won't stop us with such actions, but on the contrary, they will make people angry," Zelenskyі emphasized.
Onslaught of Ukrainian defenders
It will be recalled that at the beginning of June, the Ukrainian military intensified its offensive in the Zaporizhzhуa and Donetsk regions. The Armed Forces managed to liberate eight settlements.
However, in recent days, the Russian occupiers have become more active in the Lymano-Kupian direction. Ukrainian defenders hold back enemy assaults.
Also, according to the military, Ukrainian defenders advanced a kilometer in the Tavry direction and leveled the front line.
