The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed bills on the abolition of VAT and import duties on components for drones (Nos. 9275 and 9276), the parliament's website reported on Tuesday.
"President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has signed bills on the abolition of VAT and import duty on drone components," - confirmed the Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov in Telegram.
According to the official, importers are now exempted from paying for materials, assemblies, units, equipment and components for UAVs during martial law.
"This is the next step towards scaling up the production of drones. Just now, the Defense Forces need thousands of drones. We continue to do everything to ensure that our soldiers get more drones to the front," said Fedorov.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted draft laws Nos. 9275 and 9276 on supporting the production of drones in Ukraine by exempting for the time of martial law from VAT and import duties the components (materials, assemblies, equipment units and components) of UAVs imported by enterprises for their own production and repair activities UAVs, in total (284 and 289) on May 29.
